Sydney Big Day Out - Thursday January 26th 2012 I woke up at about 8am that morning, did my usual morning routine and texted Jaynee to organise when to meet up and got changed. I then left the house and it started raining :( but luckily my mum had convinced me to take my rain jacket with me. Sat at the bus stop for like 10 minutes. Got to the train station and caught the first train to Lidcombe. Listened to MCR the whole way there and texted Jaynee. We met at Lidcombe train station at around 10:30am I think and then caught the train to Olympic Park where BDO was held. It was overcast when we got there and as soon as we entered the venue it started pouring down. Everyone was drenched and looking very attractive lol We managed to find some shelter somewhere and it stopped raining for awhile. We walked around, looked at some merch, other shops and found where all the stages were. We mainly came to see MCR play though. I heard a few bands that i didn’t mind the sound of that i hadn’t heard before which include the jezabels and boy & bear. I listened to Living End too but i already knew who they were. Jaynee and I survived the changing weather, entertained ourselves with boys skate boarding, food, our phones, each others company and then made our way down to where MCR would be playing. We stood near the second barricade about 3-4 bands before MCR set. We had a good spot and see the band clearly. I think this was Jaynee’s first time she was seeing the band so it was important she didn’t miss anything and could see them. This was my second time seeing them and it was way too long since i last saw them in 2007 which was when i had just started to find out who they were and their music. I thought the setlist was pretty damn amazing and a good selection of songs off their albums. I was happy with it and sharing the moments with jaynee and singing from the top of our lungs. I was just so happy to have them so close, back in Australia and playing live songs for us. I took a few photos and a video on my camera before the battery ran out. I forgot that you have to charge up new cameras. Give Em Hell Kid Sorrows Black Parade After that we freaked out about MCR, I had to say goodbye, we hugged and I raced to the train station so I could get back to Central and home again. TBC…
